EXPEDITION DIARY

Main team - DIARY UPDATE FOR:

DAY 32 - FRIDAY 23 APRIL 2004

We have been plagued by bad weather again today. Up at the interim camp, Ven and Dick left the tent early this morning and jugged to the top of the fixed ropes, but were unable to push out any new ground due to high winds and poor visibility. Andy, Ade and Val did load carries from Camp 1 to the interim camp, despite the bad weather and came down to Base Camp for their well earned rest period after 3 consecutive load carries. Colin, Dave Bunting and Aleck headed up to Camp 1 late this morning and will take over load carrying with Ben tomorrow morning. The rest of us have enjoyed appalling weather at Base Camp during our rest period. It has snowed for most of the afternoon but is just clearing now - hopefully, we will have better luck tomorrow.

We said farewell to the HADT at about 0830 this as they headed down the valley on their 6 day trek out to Tumlingtar. They have had a very busy programme and we wish them well for their return home.
