EXPEDITION DIARY

Main team - DIARY UPDATE FOR:

DAY 28 - MONDAY 19 APRIL 2004

The day in Base Camp started leisurely with thoughts of the Development Team on their summit day and our Main Team members at Camp One having endured a stormy night. The early radio call to Colin told a different story and Camp One had experienced a reasonable night protected in its snowy hollow.
For the climbing party the winds were low throughout the day and Colin and Aleck managed to make a significant advance towards the crest of Peak Three ridge by taking a traversing line to some hidden ground hoping to find a route, which would be the break through we were looking for. By the end of the day they radioed through with a positive outlook and things are now looking good for fresh team members to take over at the front.

Meanwhile Uisdean, Chris, Sam and Dave T were in support ferrying rope and climbing hardware forwards to keep the front pair flowing and efficient.
