The day in Base Camp started leisurely with thoughts of the Development
Team on their summit day and our Main Team members at Camp One
having endured a stormy night. The early radio call to Colin told
a different story and Camp One had experienced a reasonable night
protected in its snowy hollow.
For the climbing party the winds were low throughout the day and
Colin and Aleck managed to make a significant advance towards
the crest of Peak Three ridge by taking a traversing line to some
hidden ground hoping to find a route, which would be the break
through we were looking for. By the end of the day they radioed
through with a positive outlook and things are now looking good
for fresh team members to take over at the front.
Meanwhile Uisdean, Chris, Sam and Dave T were in support ferrying
rope and climbing hardware forwards to keep the front pair flowing
and efficient.
