All is going to plan although there has unfortunately had to be
a late change to the Summit Team this am with Andrew (the Team
Leader) having to drop out and Dave take his place. As previously
mentioned the whole team has been ravaged by a particularly nasty
bronchitic infection which at these extreme altitudes can be very
debilitating and result in paralysing coughing fits and even broken
ribs due to the exertion of coughing! Once we get back down to
the warmth of the valley these ailments should all clear but for
in the meantime remain a major nuisance.
The Summit Team left C1 in high spirits and were assisted in their
move by three UK members and Shyami (our low altitude Sherpa).
They broke the trail through last nights light fresh snow enabling
the Summit Team to conserve valuable energy. The Support Party
have returned to C1 where we will monitor progress UHF radio.
An air of excitement hangs over the mountain!
