During the night the weather deteriorated with strong gusting
winds rattling the tents. At 0700 the decision was made to sit
it out for a further day at C1. This decision was justified as
30 knot winds have continued throughout the day and a northerly
airstream from Tibet has brought an unusual weather pattern. Sean
Yates had a near miss when the toilet tent nearly took off around
him! The day was not wasted and members got valuable rest and
caught up on ablutions and leisure activities as todays pictures
show. As I write this the weather seems to be improving and it
will be full speed ahead tomorrow to establish and occupy C1.
Obviously we have now lost a day on the program but there is sufficient
flex in the climbing plan to absorb this.
