We have moved up from Khare to the Mera La camp site.
This has been our first day on snow and ice which challenged the
porters with their instep crampons and heavy loads and required
occasional assistance from us. Weather is not brilliant with intermittent
snow showers and cloud; the forecast is also poor for the next two
days which may affect our summit bid on Mera.
We will not be taking the laptop beyond this camp so therefore the
next update will be in two days time - batteries permitting. This
low power situation is also preventing us from transmitting images
with this report.
All are acclimatising well and we are in good spirits and optimistic.
